Swimming Pool Pump Issues - Recommended Repairs
Eventually, a swimming pool pump will have an issue. Before deciding the entire pump needs replacing, there are a couple inexpensive options to check before making a complete replacement.
- Pump seal is worn and needs replacing. The seal is located between the impeller and motor.
- Motor capacitor needs replacing
- Motor is siezed up. Motors can be replaced without buying an entirely new pump. This is almost always a less expensive option (for an in ground pool pump) than doing a complete replacement.
- Last resort is replacing the pump.
